MacGregor Supplies New Valve Controls for FPSO Conversion

MacGregor is supplying a range of controls for Ballast and Cargo system on the Ningaloo Vision conversion project.

The Group's Service division, part of Cargotec Corporation, will deliver its equipment toward the end of this year, and the FPSO is due for delivery around year-end. Conversion work onboard the 102,000 dwt double-skinned Aframax tanker Kudam began in 2007. Following its delivery the vessel will be re-named Ningaloo Vision and start working in Apache Northwest's (Apache). Van Gogh oil field – which lies at a depth of about 350m, located off the northwest coast of Australia. Ningaloo Vision will have a process facility of 150,000 barrels of fluid per day, a crude oil production of 63,000 barrels of oil per day and an oil storage capacity of 620,000 barrels. MacGREGOR's scope of supply on board the vessel includes, two new valve racks and electrical junction boxes, including the disconnection and reconnection of the hydraulic terminations, three deck enclosures and electrical junction boxes, complete modification of the existing cargo control consoles to incorporate the new valve control system, including disconnection and reconnection of all units, flushing and purging of all hydraulic tubes linked to the control of the hydraulic actuators, commissioning of the valve system and ensuring classification compliance of the system.
