The transport arm of Brazil’s energy giant Petrobras, Transpetro, has signed a contract for the construction of four tankers.
Brazil’s Eisa shipyard will construct four Panamax oil tankers in a deal with US$349 million. The order is part of Transpetro’s fleet renewal program, the company statement said. The four tankers would be capable of transporting 550,000 barrels of oil. The tankers are scheduled for delivery in August 2012, November 2012, May 2013 and September 2013.
