Phase 1 comprises two 100,000-tonne berths, which cost CNY1.3 billion (US$190 million) to build and will be completed by 2010. Phase 2 comprises two 200,000-tonne berths costing CNY1.8 billion and will be finished by 2012. Following completion, the terminal will have an annual capacity of 6 million TEU and be able to accommodate sixth-generation containerships.

Fujian's Sanduao box terminal starts construction
THE Sanduao International Container Terminal, which is situated in the Sanduao port area at southeastern China's Fujian province, has commenced construction.
