Admiralty Shipyards begins submarine tests

Admiralty Shipyards, Russia, is about to begin tests on its Project 636 Kilo submarine, ordered by a foreign customer.

The submarine is now preparing to leave Neva Bay for plant tests which will immediately be followed by state tests in the Gulf of Finland. According to the General Director of Admiralty Shipyards, Vladimir Aleksandrov, the submarine will return to the yard after checks on all mechanisms, systems and equipment. Furthermore, Admiralty will host training for the submarine’s foreign crew. Delivery is scheduled by the end of the year.
