GreenCarrier extends Baltic business with Estonia operations

Green Carrier has launched in Estonia at the beginning of February 2008, as a result of renaming the freight forwarder Global Cargo Link.

GreenCarrier Estonia is an international freight forwarding company and part of the Swedish Bjork.Eklund Group. It now operates throughout Scandinavia and the Baltic states and also has offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai. In October 2007, the Bjork.Eklund Group acquired the Finnish Cargomasters Group, of which Global Cargo Link was a member.

Beijing to build Sino-German giant logistics park to match new Silk Road rail link

Beijing plans to build an enormous logistics facility covering nearly 70 hectares for the newly-launched Sino-Germany Container Railway, Logistics Week reported.

The first phase includes a container freight station and a logistics park. Construction will start this year. It is predicted that after the facility is completed, the volume of Germany-bound boxes on this railway will reach 20,000 to 26,000 TEU by 2010 while Beijing-bound boxes will be about 10,000 TEU.
