Beijing to build Sino-German giant logistics park to match new Silk Road rail link

Beijing plans to build an enormous logistics facility covering nearly 70 hectares for the newly-launched Sino-Germany Container Railway, Logistics Week reported.

The first phase includes a container freight station and a logistics park. Construction will start this year. It is predicted that after the facility is completed, the volume of Germany-bound boxes on this railway will reach 20,000 to 26,000 TEU by 2010 while Beijing-bound boxes will be about 10,000 TEU.
